March 12, 2020 Having had the honor and privilege of serving the citizens of Hillsborough County as Sheriff for almost eighteen years and serving in New Hampshire law enforcement for over forty years, today I am announcing that I will not be a candidate for re-election as Hillsborough County Sheriff in 2020. I will always be grateful to the county's citizens for supporting my election and re-election efforts over the span of nine terms of office as Hillsborough County Sheriff. I also want to take this opportunity to thank the men and women at the Office of the Hillsborough County Sheriff for their dedication to duty and hard work while carrying out our duties and responsibilities. Our administrative support staff, court officers, dispatchers, sheriff's deputies, and command staff carry out our mandated duties in a professional manner, while maintaining dignity and respect for the citizens we serve. I am proud of our work and what we have accomplished. In addition to our primary duties, our force of deputies, all state-certified police officers, have actively participated in a number of initiatives that directly impact the quality of life for the citizens of Hillsborough County.
